Download and Install Toolbox version 4.1

On Windows:

Note: If you are running Toolbox or any of the other software on the SD card, then you MUST close the application(s) before proceeding with the download.

  • Insert the Flip-Pal SD card (or a blank SD card) into your computer.
    If your computer does not have an SD card slot, use the supplied white SD card to USB adapter, plugging it into a USB slot on your computer.
  • When you insert it, Windows will assign a drive letter to the card. Remember the letter to use a few steps later.
  • It is recommended that you do a quick format of the SD card. Remember to copy any scans you have stored in the DCIM/100_SCAN folder to your hard drive or other storage device first.

Download fileClick here to download and save the ZIP file to your computer’s hard drive, which will probably be the Downloads or Documents folders. It is named Flip-Pal-Toolbox-4-1.zip and is about 72MB.

ExtractAndSelect

  • When downloading is complete, select the file and click Extract all.
  • Select the Destination by clicking Browse… and find the actual drive letter of your SD card from the list under My Computer as mentioned above.
  • Click Extract. The software is ready for use when extraction is complete and the dialog closes itself.

If you are asked to overwrite existing files reply yes to all. This may leave you with two Toolbox files. To run Toolbox 4, click on the file Win Flip-Pal Toolbox 4.exe. Delete the old version.


On Mac:

  • Insert the Flip-Pal SD card (or a blank SD card) into your computer.
    If your computer does not have an SD card slot, use the supplied SD card to USB adapter, plugging it into a USB slot on your computer.
  • After a short delay, the SD card should show up on your desktop as a new icon labeled either FLIP-PAL or No Name, which will also be visible in a Finder window.
  • NOTE! When you insert the SD card into your Mac, iPhoto might launch automatically. If it does, quit iPhoto immediately and do not permit it to copy and/or delete any scans on your card unless you specifically tell it to do so at a later time.
  • It is recommended that you do a quick format of the SD card. Remember to copy any scans you have stored in the DCIM/100_SCAN folder to your hard drive or other storage device first.

Download file
Click here to download the zip file to your computer’s hard drive, which will probably be the Downloads folder. It is named Flip-Pal-Toolbox-4-1.zip and is about 63MB.

  • When downloading is complete, double-click on the zip file which will extract the files into a newly created folder.
    You may first be prompted to Approve the extraction process from a file downloaded from the internet. Approve the process. It may also warn that the installer is not approved by Apple. Go to Security Settings and Allow Programs Downloaded from the Internet.
  • Open the folder “Mac Toolbox”. In this folder is the UpdateSDcard application. Run it.
  • In the finder window, click on the back arrow so that the folder shows MacToolbox, Read Me.txt, Win Flip-Pal Toolbox.exe and WinToolbox. Select all of the items in this folder. (Command-A on Mac)
  • Click and drag all of the items to the SD card. You may be warned that files of the same name already exist. Respond by checking the box labeled “Yes to All” and then clicking on the button labeled “Replace”. (Note: this will not affect the scans you may already have on the SD card)
  • Open the Flip-Pal SD card and double click on the Mac Flip-Pal Toolbox icon to run the program from the SD card.
